My name is David Hodges and I have been making custom tattoos for almost 2 decades. I began my career on the coast of North Carolina, and was fortunate enough to learn from several very talented and well-rounded artists. After North Carolina, I found myself tattooing in South Carolina, and then I moved to North Georgia where I have made my home. I’ve traveled a good bit and tried to bring back as much inspiration for art as I possibly can from wherever I can find it.

Tattooing and Art, as I see it.

I’ve spent my life searching the world for beauty, trying to see and hear and experience all I can. I learned to tattoo at 19 and have never looked back, every day I try to find ways to improve my craft and bring the best tattoos I can to my clients. I work tirelessly to make my art in the hope of translating the beauty I’ve found into paint, graphite, and ink.

Over the years I’ve developed a few styles that I keep coming back to, with the main goal to produce tattoos that last and look beautiful as long as they can. I specialize in ornamental, American and Japanese tattooing, as well as fineline, watercolor, blackwork, and even handpoking. If your idea doesn't fall into these styles, just ask, occasionally I’ll try something completely new. I hope you enjoy the art, and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have via the contact form. Thanks for looking and I hope to tattoo you soon!

I love hearing people’s stories, and making the best pieces of art I can for each and every person that walk into my studio. I have purposely kept the space small and private with a cozy atmosphere, perfect for those folks who don’t like the loud more intense environments of traditional tattoo shops. My studio is filled with art that I have made over the years, from sketches to oil paintings and everything in between. If you’re looking for a calm, relaxing tattoo experience look no further.

Each tattoo I make is custom designed and fitted to the individual in whatever style they’ve chosen. I love making ornamental tattoos, both small and large, and you can never go wrong with a classic bold American traditional design. But why stop there? I’m also proficient in Japanese style tattoos, Realism in black and gray or color, Portraits, Lettering, Even watercolor and hand poke tattooing. You name it and I can do it! I’ve been featured on BuzzFeed and in the international magazine TATTOO, and have tattooed people from all across the globe.

I hope you’ll come see me at The Crescent Tattoo Company in Dawsonville, Georgia, and give me the privilege of doing your next tattoo. If you have any questions or would like to book a spot, simply click on the link below and text me and we can get started on your next project today!
